Samantha Tan is an 19 year old race car driver from Gormley, Ontario.
She found her interest in cars at the young age of 5, when her father bought her a Power Wheels Jeep. She fondly recalls drifting around the driveway in front of her house and was always striving to complete a full 180. She was the youngest driver to participate in the Ferrari Driving Experience at Mont Tremblant, where she ultimately made her decision to start racing.
Over the winter months of 2014, she competed in NASA (National AutoSport Association), where she achieved a second place finish at Gateway International, and two third place finishes at Virgina International Raceway.
During the summer months, she was a part of the Canadian Touring Car Championship in the #45 Mini Cooper S JCW.
Samantha finished 5th out of 22 cars in the Touring Class, 9th out of 47 overall in the series, and was recognized as Rookie of the Year! She will be competing in the Pirelli World Challenge with her own team, Samantha Tan Racing, in the 2016 season. Samantha is currently a freshman at the University of California in Irvine taking economics and will race in the Pirelli World Challenge again next year!
